I'm not such a fan of Horror Films anymore. I feel they are competing with each other to see who can be more sick and twisted than the other. This is a remake of the Wes Craven movie from 1977 and I say "NO" to this film unless you are one of those sick and twisted individuals. I enjoyed the scenery, loved the surround sound technology, and assumed that this would be your typical lost in the desert at the last gas station type film. However amongst the cast of unotable actors (except Academy Award Nominee Kathleen Quinlan) the screen writer has no mercy on a 6 member family and their two dogs traveling with an RV to San Diego. In the desert hills there are horribly created mutants from a mining camp that existed at a nuclear test site that operated back in the 1950's era. Somehow they survived to present day by sensless cannibalism of lost tourists and take their revenge on their exile with violence, gore, and animal cruelty. This only promotes sick and twisted violence that already exists in this world and is a tribute to the demented society that have a craving for films like this. Don not let your kids see this one.
